Sergey (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 21:42
Haha... you're just envious... ;)
Song (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 22:04
Even though, these are some serious skills.
Babak (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 22:05
How wonderfully pretentious. Please just spank him and make him stfu.
Chloroform (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 22:14
What I don't understand is why they have a conductor, when there's only a pianist and the kid...
Guest (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 22:47
Great!
Em the great (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 23:21
His parents must be soooo nazis!
Sergey (guest)  -  May 8, 2006, 23:29

dtfinch  -  May 9, 2006, 03:50
I bet he gets made fun of at school a lot. I certainly was, but I didn't go the next step and sing opera.
Piiman (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 05:16
nice choice of a career ;(( or maybe he doesn't hit puberty at all! or its a girl! but thats wrong, WRONG
well... (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 05:32
I believe in the past (currently?) - young choir boys would have something re-worked "down there" so that their voices did not drop... I'm not certain that is fact or where that was (is?) done... - - but this sounds like a candidate...
LOL (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 06:02
Well this is a part from Figaros Wedding, and it is written to be sanged by a women/soprano boy and I think he carries the song really good. There are A LOT of practise hours behind his voice.
Just saying (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 06:09
Aw come on now...boy sopranos are a rarity especially with that type of control. I don't like opera but I know great when I hear it...that boy can sing!
Chloroform (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 08:01
Haha, that's not Figaros Wedding... It's the Queen of the Night's second aria in The Magic Flute, K. 620, (by the same composer). It is to be sung by a (female) soprano, preferably a "dramatic coloratura". From http://www.aria-database.com: Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen - No. 14 from Act II, Scene III of the German opera, Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Libretto : Emanuel Schikaneder * Role : The Queen of the Night, * Voice Part : soprano Fach : dramatic coloratura * Setting : Pamina's room * Range : F4 to F6. Tessitura : A5 to C6 * Synopsis : Giving her a knife, the Queen of the Night tells Pamina to kill Sarastro in order to get the Shield of the Sun from him.
dev (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 08:14

Maus Merryjest (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 20:18
This is exactly the kind of voice that would have become a castrato during the baroque period. Truly an exceptional voice.
george (guest)  -  May 9, 2006, 22:58

I have to say, a little boy filling the part of a girl in opera... That is homosexuality in the making
(guest) (guest)  -  May 16, 2006, 15:42
oll: yes, because opera and singing are such gay things. nothing like the maleness of sports or drinking beer. but I don't like sports, I guess that makes me gay! funny, seeing as how I've been attracted to girls all my life. some people really are idiots...
Tilth (guest)  -  May 17, 2006, 21:15
Normally sung by a grown woman, this is impressive to say the least.
Tilth (guest)  -  May 17, 2006, 21:17
P.S. Would be funnier if his voice broke part way through, as I expected.

opera singer (guest)  -  June 1, 2006, 21:08
as a singer of operas, my opinion: this kid does an awesome job of this song. he uses great echnique and form for someone so young. this is a hard part for the best sopranos out there and he does it justice
Mark (guest)  -  June 6, 2006, 16:14
oll you are an idiot... gay and voice/singing is 2 different things and i know what i say, i'm gay and i absolute don't sing at all (my voice is too low) :)
Surreal  -  June 6, 2006, 21:50
This is an aria if i'm not mistaken. Can't tell you which opera it came from. All i know is, is this child has real potential. He wont be a saprano forever, but he might be the next best 1st tenor anywhere. He has great form, posture, and dynamics. This is truely marvelouse for someone that looks to be only 10.
Jerry (guest)  -  June 8, 2006, 04:34
Amazing! That kid must have been made to practice for weeks on end. He hit several difficult notes almost perfectly.
jessica (guest)  -  June 13, 2006, 00:18

fixit2at (guest)  -  July 4, 2006, 19:39
Very talented young man. A prodigy who should be encouraged. I'm sure his partnets are proud of him. I hope he continues with his voice studies and can take the ridicule of some of the unwashed booboisie whose comments stain this page. Keep at it Kid.
Xcess (guest)  -  July 12, 2006, 15:02
FYI if it hasn't been stated 1) It's Italian 2) It's from "The Magical Flute" 3) It's The Queen Of The Nights solo part, listen to the more professional and you'll notice how bad he is, however still a great job. (Tho even I could do that part once)
Desert queen (guest)  -  July 14, 2006, 12:09
I think that this boy was great. You are so unkind! He is only boy!

Skills To bad the skills are gayish
Brad (guest)  -  July 22, 2006, 07:11
Shame this becomes a venue to see who can outdo the other in rude comments and such. This young boy has an amazing voice and has a very bright future ahead of him.
Rucher (guest)  -  July 23, 2006, 10:48

Serveck (guest)  -  July 26, 2006, 21:23

It's verry cool!!! What a beautiful female voice!!! ihihih... ^^
Vilxan (guest)  -  July 31, 2006, 22:41
I don't know why the hell some of you think that opera makes you gay, or some how makes you bad. I don;t think that boy has been trained, as he was off quite alot, but if he is trained, who knows what he'd be like!
Skittle (guest)  -  August 1, 2006, 10:15
He won't loose his talent. He'll just adjust. Sopranos are rare and favored, but hell, he might go up and be a bass.
??????? (guest)  -  August 6, 2006, 14:37

Soprano kid rules (guest)  -  September 15, 2006, 15:13
Just want to reply the comment "Pessimisten" wrote. - Grow up.
Gorboth (guest)  -  September 26, 2006, 05:46
This is perhaps the most famous example of a song written for coluratura soprano singing. Any soprano worth her stuff will aim to be able to sing a decent high C ... this song calls for a double-high F#, which this child sings with impressive power and clarity. Its certainly not the most musical performance one will hear of this piece, but you can hardly expect professional musicality from an eleven year old. This clip is a keeper, for sure!
Bam (guest)  -  September 27, 2006, 20:50
He looks like a monkey...
Linn (guest)  -  October 26, 2006, 21:02
He's great. He would make a great counter tenor!
Jimman (guest)  -  November 2, 2006, 15:25
Ohhhhh, When I hear him I feel like Killing someone.. :@
RedHavoc (guest)  -  November 5, 2006, 05:37
I dunno why this is on here... it really is NOT that impressive. I went to a music school full of kids better than that! He was very out of tune a lot of the time!!
Skanking (guest)  -  November 7, 2006, 01:55
..and then came puberty
Vilxan  -  January 10, 2007, 19:00
I am afraid I have to give this a thumbs down, because I feel the same as RedHavoc, I play the violin, so I don't know much about singing, but those high notes really sounded painful to me. I think this kid should be go to a music school. If he's already in a music school, he needs a better teacher.
magicman  -  January 19, 2007, 03:26
Wow...Excellent example of German kids are brought up to embrace the arts, and enjoy them. What to many kids his age are lacking is discipline to accomplish something that GREAT!!!
Alex (guest)  -  February 3, 2007, 04:27
Die Zauberflote = Mozart's The Magic Flute.
splee256 (guest)  -  February 4, 2007, 20:33
he looks like a llama and should be on the llama song
Bas (guest)  -  March 19, 2007, 18:23
I've got his balls right here
rlkelm  -  March 26, 2007, 21:16
I never get tired of watching (or listening to) someone who is a Master at his craft. This young man is well on his way toward that level. I do not really enjoy listening male Soprano vocals, but I admire his talent and the many hours of practice he must have endured to get that good. Only the best of the best get as far as the "Vienna's Boys Choir". Although they did used to "alter" the boys to keep their voices from 'breaking', it has been illegal for centuries. This lad probably has less than 3 years remaining to him as a soprano. If he still loves music, we may see him him at the "Met" (or on stage somewhere) as a Tenor or other talented vocalist. >... As Chloroform almost pointed out, The large group of young men behind him was the rest of the choir, put there to keep the conductor occupied in case the Pianist and Soloist allowed his mind to wander.
Vilxan  -  April 6, 2007, 18:52
I can tell there's not many musicians here because everyone's saying that when his voice breaks, he's somehow ONLY allowed to play either Tenor or Bass. Once his voice has broken, he will probably have to sing Tenor or Bass in a choir, but if he wishes to go Solo, he could be a countertenor, which is a man singing as high as Alto, Mezzo-Soprano, or even the highest notes on the soprano range, through something called falsetto. I can't believe no-one has considered that men can actually make their voices high. I'm in a choir, and I sing Bass, but I could train myself to be a countertenor if I wished. Countertenors voices are used in a wide range of music, because it is not the same as a women singing, it has a different timbre. As for my comment above, I think I was a bit too harsh on the kid, possibly because I'm not really a singer. I'm in a choir, but my main instrument is Violin. I mainly listen to solo professionals, so I was comparing him to a professional. This kid technically is very good, but he misses the high notes, and not being a professional is not an excuse. He should work on getting those higher notes, and sing a song which would be easier for him. He could perfect that song, and keep going with it, but I'd make sure it is perfect before putting it on the internet, so there would be more comments. I think the people who are saying nasty comments here, are not jealous, they just don't like him because a) He sings high b) he's singing classical music, which is seriously pathetic. I don't mind people commenting on my thoughts, although I would like for people to think carefully about what they say, and especially, their spellings. I respect everyone, but I don't listen to people who like to act like idiots.
Godsluv (guest)  -  September 24, 2007, 04:58
Vilxan I am a music person basically to say I sing Soprano and some lower but not too low and I also sing in the choir. This boy could clearly when he gets older sing Tenor or Opera because he sings real high now and young boys singing is equivalent to soprano b/c it is high but not always strong. I think he has it clear in opera because there are Irish Tenors in Opera with real strong voices. He does need to work on improving his enunciations when he sings though that is probably why people don't understand him.
wtf?  -  October 16, 2007, 00:22
at first i thought that was a girl
Mark (guest)  -  November 16, 2008, 19:04
dude that is so fricking in credible i sing and im a high tenor one but my voice has already matured... do u know how impossible that would be to sing even if i could hit the notes!!!... and i made it to states for choir!!
